“Doug Robinson swings like a madman!” -Electronic Musician

“Art Can’t Hurt You is a listening delight.” -Rob Mounsey, producer/arranger

I was inspired by Fred Babb's incredible artwork, and when he gave me permission to use it for my cover (artists are great people), I knew I had to make this thing really good.

Recorded in 1994, this CD features my best multi-instrumentalist work so far. My friend and co-producer Don Boomer helped me lay down tracks on keys, fretted and fretless bass, drums, guitars and electric sitar. Don also added some percussion, and some tunes feature terrific performances by saxophonist Hollis Gentry lll, keyboardist Carl Evans Jr, guitarist Byron Hori, saxophonist Bruce Gilbert, trumpeter Lloyd Ellis, and vocals by my wife Glenda.

The album is currently out of print, but you can listen to some Real Audio Samples, then help yourself to an MP3 of Little Train, my personal favorite (that’s Glenda on vocals).
