07/21/05 Well...a lot has happened since my last update!

New albums:

Brother Andy's Exotic America, which I co-produced and mixed;

Two Days in November, cool tuneage from my San Diego trio Jazzooo (with Duncan Moore and Ken Dow);

Yes World, the long-awaited follow up to Michelle Abby's Spinner from 1997;

And my own vocal debut, Midlife Chrysalis, which tackles heavy issues like growing older and not recognizing the bands featured in Rolling Stone anymore.

The movie I scored is now called Lost Lake, and is being distributed by Warner Brothers through Blockbuster, Netflicks and so on.

Glenda and I bought a place in Mexico (San Miguel de Allende) and are splitting our time between the two countries-loving it!

George Robinson left us, and Duffy Robinson came to our rescue. Photos to follow someday.

Coming soon: I'm working on a solo piano album (thanks to Mike Boomer and the kind people at Royer Ribbon Microphones for the use of their prototype), and also mixing a live album by Jazzooo-both should be done by the end of 2005.

11/04/03 I'm working on some recordings with my new trio, JAZZOOO, for an upcoming album. It's an exciting project! More at The Listening Sessions Meets Jazzooo.
10/04/02 Put up a photo gallery for George & Phoebe. George needs your good thoughts to get well soon.
09/07/02 My buddy Don Boomer visited me in my new studio recently and we conducted a microphone shootout with the help of brother Andy. I posted some comments about it at a recording BBS I frequent, and someone there forwarded it to www.digitalprosound.com for publication! Check it out if this kind of thing interests you. It's called "Microphone Shootout -- A highly personal approach to finding what mics work best for your music" by Doug "Jazzooo" Robinson
09/01/02 Well, there's TONS of stuff happening! First, I've got a brand new album: Let Freedom Swing. This is something I started working on in 1999, and I almost didn't complete it after 9/11, because I worried that it would seem creepy and exploitive. But after getting an emotional response while performing some of the material earlier this year, I called Peter Erskine and some of my other favorite musicians and we hit the studio. I'm pretty proud of the results and I hope you'll feel the same.

In other news‹ the L.A. debut of Peak Experience, the movie I scored for Adams Entertainment, happens this month. This is a huge thrill for me‹ much thanks and love to Anthony and Christina Adams for bring Glenda and me into this project. Check out their website at www.peakexperiencethemovie.com for sound bites and photos.

The Jazz Nation is a great indie jazz publication, and I'm happy to say that I am their cover story for their Spring 2002 issue! They wait a few months to post the interviews, but visit the site anyway and request a print copy if you're curious.

AdGap Audio is no longer, but... Glenda and I are doing the same kind of work through our new brand company, Jazzooo Productions, which markets great independent music to forward-thinking corporations to use as business gifts.

Finally, the Robinsons have relocated to the hills of Escondido, about 30 minutes north of Downtown San Diego. The terrain is very similar to our old stomping grounds outside of Sequoia National Park-huge boulders and scrub oak. The dogs are blissed out, and so are we. We've just completed construction on my new personal recording studio, and Michelle (Abby) Shelfer and I are in pre-production mode for our next collaboration (our last one, Spinner, was a production milestone for me and just an overall gas.
